SHANA ROBBINS

One facet of my work is autobiographical, in the sense that, throughout decades of runway modeling and practicing Butoh movement, my body has served as site and threshold in performances, videos, paintings, and photographs. In other ways, the work is not about me at all, but points to multi-perspective visions of supernatural and mythopoetic spaces that swallow me whole. Although not universal, these images speak to our human relationship with animals, plants, the cosmos, the Earth, and transformation through cycles of life and death. They are earth magic cartographies created in reverence and wonder at the healing potential of our radical interdependence with the Wild.
