Visual Art Curator and Critic Forum
Tuesday February 21, 2023, 7:30PM
Join local college and university students, staff at local art institutions and galleries, and professionals in the field for a recurring monthly meeting that will develop into an incubator of ideas and actions related to curating and critiquing art. The first meeting will be a meet-and-greet style event where attendees will identify interests and start to form a targeted direction. Outcomes could include:
Curation and production of exhibitions both at Eyedrum and off-site venues
Critique series for artists to present work for feedback/discussion
Recorded and cataloged interview series with local and national artists
Field trips, perhaps to visit to the Hambidge Center in North Georgia
Meetings with staff at local and regional institutions
Lectures and presentations about new media
Guest lectures
With Eyedrum as the sponsor, participants will build personal networks and gain experience in curating, critiquing, and writing about the art world.
Please forward this announcement to anyone who may be interested.
Eyedrum is located at 515 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd, Unit A3, Atlanta, GA 30312
The program coordinator is Sean McCormick: sean.mccormick@eyedrum.org
Eyedrum will turn 25 this year and is supported in part by contributions from the City of Atlanta and Fulton County.
