Join us for a gripping performance by Tatsuya Nakatani, the internationally acclaimed percussionist known for his unique use of bowed gongs. He has spent decades refining his sound as an arrangement of formations of vibrations, incorporated in shimmering layers of silence and texture. You do not want to miss this intimate show at our gallery space!

Tatsuya Nakatani

Tatsuya Nakatani is an avant-garde percussionist, composer, and sound artist known for his innovative approach to music. Since the 1990s, he has released over 80 recordings and performs over 150 concerts a year worldwide. Nakatani’s primary focus is his solo work and the Nakatani Gong Orchestra. He teaches master classes and lectures globally, combining new music, improvisation, and experimental sound. His distinctive music features his adapted bowed gong, drums, cymbals, and singing bowls, creating an array of shimmering layers of silence and texture. Nakatani’s work retains the formal elegance and space (ma) felt in traditional Japanese music.
